If there’s one thing that can make 2020 even just a little bearable, it’s positive, uplifting new music and thanks to singer/songwriter Andria Piperni, we’ve been given just that with the release of “Above the Clouds.”
Released on September 11th, “Above the Clouds” is a beautiful reminder that during our toughest days when stress is bearing down heavy on us, it’s only temporary. Piperni conveys these feelings by referencing the sky and how the sun (our happiness) is always there, even if clouds are blocking its shine.
The cover art of “Above The Clouds” features Piperni standing in front of a cloudy sky with her hand reaching out. She’s wearing a bohemian style, white floral dress and her long brown hair is down. The simplicity is well executed and it goes perfectly with the story of the song.
While Piperni brings a soulful, R&B vibe to the main and background vocals of “Above the Clouds,” there is also a pop beat that picks up with the help of the guitar playing in the beginning. Each of these elements mixes together really well and creates a calming yet fun sort of feeling.
On her official website, Piperni lists Alicia Keys as one of her favorite R&B artists early on and when you first listen to “Above the Clouds,” it definitely will remind listeners of Keys, as well as artists like Colbie Caillat and Sabrina Carpenter. Hope is a common theme between “Above the Clouds” and these other artist’s songs and especially now, this theme is more important than ever.
Some key lyrics listeners should be on the lookout for include, “each day, waking up, feeling like you got something to prove,” “it won’t ease the pain, there’s no life without rain,” and “you may not see it now but there’s always sun up above the clouds.”
Like many of her past reviews have stated, Andria Piperni is a gifted storyteller through her music and “Above the Clouds” is another great example of that.
“Above the Clouds” is out everywhere now, and you can and stream it wherever you get your music. To learn more about Piperni, visit her official website, linked below.
