New York has given birth to its fair share of highly talented musicians but one you may not have heard of yet is Two Feet.

The brainchild of Zach Dess, Two Feet is a like a breath of fresh air for the music industry with its punchy bass tracks accompanied by guitar solo after guitar solo ripping through the speakers alongside beautifully composed lyricism.

While Dess and his Two Feet project have only been active for a few years, he has lived through quite the roller coaster ride after the release of his debut EP “First Steps”. This was the beginning of his rise to stardom from grocery store clerk to touring with Panic! At The Disco.

Zach Dess, born Zachary William Dess, emerged out of absolutely nowhere after his release of the EP in 2016, quickly accumulating millions of plays on his hit single “Go Fuck Yourself.” But who is he? Where did he come from?

Zach Dess, producer behind Two Feet

Dess is a local producer and musician from the streets of Harlem. His experimentation with several different genres through mixing elements of Jazz/Blues with electronic and pop helped to establish that unique sound that’s heard in not only his single but now two EP’s and a full length album.

In 2017, Two Feet hit the road playing big name festivals such as Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits, and later went on to produce his second EP titled “After Momentum” in June.

Following the success of his first EP, “After Momentum,” certainly did not disappoint as “Had Some Drinks” was yet another huge hit for him. Not only was he proving himself to be incredibly versatile with his music, but his passion for what he was producing was so clear.

The year was one for the books and his fan base was excited for what the future would hold for Two Feet but little did they know 2018 was going to become somewhat of a controversial year for him.

In June, pop rockers Panic! At The Disco announced that their Pray For The Wicked tour would be hitting the road across the US for a second time, beginning in the winter of 2019. Shortly after, it was announced that Two Feet would be joining the massive world tour as support. This was a huge step in his musical career as he was about to play stadium after stadium, opening for the legendary Brendon Urie and company.

New music from Dess was in the works once again but his struggles with severe mental health issues eventually pushed him to his breaking point. He took to twitter to post a “suicide note” as a goodbye to his fans. Claiming that he didn’t want to live anymore, he decided to release unfinished music as a farewell gesture but, the music industry wasn’t about to let him give up and luckily, he received an outpouring of support left and right from both artists he’s played with and his fans. The tweet quickly gained the attention of authorities which ultimately helped to land him in the hospital where he received medical treatment to ensure he was safe and sound.

This wasn’t going to be the end of Two Feet though, it was only the beginning.

Dess may have been at rock bottom in July of 2018 after he posted his farewell, but it could only go up from here.

A few months following his hospitalization, Dess released his first full length album named a “A 20 Something Fuck” on October 5th.

He managed to fully bounce back and show the world that struggling with your mental health doesn’t have to continuously drag you down. Pushing through his darkest hour he came out victorious, not only finishing the album but producing yet another round of successful tracks.

2018 ended on a wonderful high note and 2019 was about to pick up where he left off.

Two Feet began touring on the Pray For The Wicked Tour with Panic! At The Disco, on January 10th. While the tour began as a great experience for Two Feet, being able to play for thousands upon thousands of fans each night, he also experienced his first real brush with negative comments- dealing with his fair share of trolls on twitter, messaging him about his music, prompting him to deactivate his account after severe bullying.

But, while Dess was feeling the hate, his new found and old fans stepped in to silence the trolls with an immense flow of positivity surrounding the nature of his sound/songs.
