One of the most important parts of being an artistic person is having the opportunity to network with likeminded individuals and work together to foster creativity in a way that helps push our artistic natures and imaginations further than we may be able to achieve on our own. And through these connections, we are able to create a community of equally supportive people that can help spread work and use word of mouth to further each other’s careers and reputations- bringing each other up in a world that often does not give enough credit to the artists behind the scenes.
But how are people supposed to network in the age of COVID-19, when most networking and studio spaces are closed down for safety? Austin’s latest studio may have found the answer through the creation of the new FOTO//HOUSE.
After launching in 2019 as a rental studio space for photographers, videographers and others who may need room to produce social media and digital media content, FOTO//HOUSE expanded this past year moving from their original location to the corner of 17th and Guadalupe St. Offering clients access to 1,800 gross square feet and a 18.5’ x 14.5’ Cyclorama wall, as well as lighting equipment at no extra cost- the studio space is perfect for anyone looking to use to high tech equipment that they may not have access to on their own.
And in addition to the move, the company has also launched their new industry nights- aimed at connecting creatives from various industries in order to help find future collaborators, business partners or just friends.
Adhering to social distancing guidelines and safety precautions, the industry nights will require attendees to RSVP in advance, and will be limited in capacity to mitigate any potential risks.
“There comes a time in one’s life when being of service to only yourself is no longer enough and there’s an internal drive to do more for others,” president Daniel Nguyen shares. “FOTO//HOUSE was created and designed to nurture, celebrate, and propel the industry, art and artists I love so deeply by providing not only an inspiring space to work in, but a safe environment as well to truly produce your best work.”
