As a Boston based publication, Second Society Report is always thrilled to have the opportunity to report on local musicians. After all, without a local scene, there would never be a bigger scene for us to enjoy.

And today we’d like to give a big shout out to one of our newest local favorites- EMMARIE, and her new single “Nicotine.”

“Nicotine” is EMMARIE’s latest and greatest track, coming one month after the 20 year old singer/songwriter announced to fans that she’d be working on new music.

After getting introduced to music at a young age, EMMARIE put out her first song at 13, and has been writing ever since.

Now, seven years later, she has not only amassed quite a collection of songs (including “Savage” and “Misfit Lullaby“) but has also performed alongside countless other musicians, including a recent gig as an opener for J-Lo.

And throughout all this time, the singer has also grown quite greatly as a songwriter, and taken her real life experiences- all of which she has saved in a journal- and turned them into art.

“Nicotine” is the culmination of this growth, and is one of EMMARIE’s most mature and personal tracks to date.

““Nicotine” is a really catchy version of my love life, really. It’s
like a reiteration of Savage, but this time, it actually worked out, and that’s the real story,” she shared.

“I’m 20 now, I’ve had these real life experiences. I’ve done my time growing up, I’m going to write what I want.”
