After teasing fans with the release of various new tracks for the past few months, Broadside have finally debuted their new album “Into The Raging Sea,” and it is easily their best album yet.
Released at midnight, “Into The Raging Sea” is the band’s third studio album, equipped with eight new songs in addition to their three previously released singles.
With tracks “Overdramatic,” “Heavenly” and “Nights Alone” the band mix 80s synth pop beats and modern pop punk rhythms with lyrics that pull at both your heart strings and your need to dance. They’ll have you blasting the first half of the album, feeling like you could conquer the world, before taking things down a few notches and hitting you in the gut with the existential “Clarity,” picking you back up with “Dancing on the Ceiling (With You)” and “The Setting Sun,” and then once more breaking you right back down with the finale track “Burning at Both Ends.”
A perfect mix of melancholy and romance, highs and lows, ballads and bops, “Into the Raging Sea” is Broadside’s most mature and impressive release to date. They have made themselves a place in history with this album, and we are so thankful it arrived when it did.
