A new song to celebrate our mums, yes please!
Brook Alexx has just released an infectious, pop single titled “Grace” after her mum.
The Asian-American Nashville based independent artist wrote the song as a gift to her mum and celebrates other women who realise that they see themselves in their mums as they get older. It’s funny how our relationships with our mums progress through life – from being a lifeline, to “miss fix it,” to being embarrassed by them, to running to them for advice and eventually realizing that she is your best friend! This sentiment is captured perfectly by Alexx as she sings:
“I see her more in me than I expected to.”
The track has been released in the middle of Women’s History Month and in time to celebrate Mother’s Day. With catchy heartfelt lyrics, the momentum can only get stronger. Alexx directed, edited and choreographed the music video that features her mum and their bond is brought to life as she sings “Yeah I’m my mother’s daughter, so glad I get the honour.”
Alexx is not one to get lost in the tide of music coming out of Nashville and her EP, due late summer 2021, will be one to watch! Stay tuned by following her on her socials:
