Multi-talented artist, Claire Reneé, recently released the title track “I’m tired” off her upcoming EP Wings. The mellow tune was produced by Dr. Dundiff and has a heavy jazz influence. Her smooth and sultry vocals take centre stage as she packs a punch with lyrics such as “tired of your invites as an afterthought.”

In a track about friendships (but can be applied to any relationship), Reneé delivers a direct message to people who take her time and energy for granted. Saying goodbye to friendships that no longer serve you isn’t easy and reaching the realisation that you’re putting in more than you’re getting back can be a bitter pill to swallow.

I think many of us have developed the mantra of making sure people respect our time and energy. This track states exactly that, from the opening line “tired of saying it’s cool, when I’m hot.” Unfortunately, this point only comes after being taken for granted but Reneé speaks up and her sultry vocals over rhythmic layers offer a direct message and calls people out on their bullshit.

If her new single is anything to go by, then we’re in for a treat with her upcoming EP Wings. The EP is inspired by relationships and navigating through challenges as she states “Getting to the other side brings light and even empathy to the very same ones who hurt you, couldn’t show up for you, or wronged you in the past.”
