From country to pop to a soulful fusion of the two- Courtney Cole can do it all.
The country singer turned acoustic pop artist who garnered a large following after several opening slots alongside famed acts such as Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown and Kenny Chesney, Courtney Cole has blessed fans this morning with the release of her new EP, “Earthquake.”
The EP, which is Cole’s first full collection since 2017’s “For The Love of Me,” features Cole’s new single (and title track) “Earthquake,” alongside the previously released “Spiritual,” “Right Direction” and “New Eyes.”
Written as a look into Cole’s life as if through diary entries, each track gives listeners an idea of the singer’s inner monologue, specifically as it relates to rebuilding and working on yourself after life altering moments.
“[The EP is] about choosing joy in the midst of pain and love in the midst of uncertainty,” Cole shared.
The first release by the singer to stray from her country beginnings, “Earthquake” showcases her range both with songwriting and styling- with ethereal vocals carrying each track and adding an extra element of emotion behind the lyrics- pulling listeners in for the full four song journey to self acceptance.
In addition to her EP, Cole also recently started her own podcast, where she discusses the process of self love, accepting yourself, and finding ways to practice self care in your everyday life.
The Love Freq, which is available now via Apple Podcasts, takes its name after the frequency 528 hertz- the same one she used to record the EPs final track.
“528Hz is an ancient healing frequency used for centuries by priests and healers as a way to transform conscious and subconscious thought as well as heal and repair the physical body,” Cole explained. “Its unifying and healing nature has coined it’s modern name “The Love Frequency.”
You can listen to both The Love Freq and “Earthquake,” out now.
