Fear is one of the most natural of human emotions, especially when it comes in relation to the concept of mortality and the realization that eventually one day will be our last.
And though for many this thought is tied to a reality that is far down the line, for singer/songwriter Darro it was a very real and looming fear after the discovery that he had a brain tumor in 2017. And while the singer has now been able to share his story of recovery and success (specifically through his 2020 debut album Songs of Recovery) Darro is also giving fans a look into the darker side of his experience with the release of his new single “Singing Out.”
An alternative rock track that recounts the thoughts and feelings that flooded Darro’s mind the day he was diagnosed with his tumor, “Singing Out” is an anthem of uncertainty and coping with your internal struggles.
“This song embodies the anxiety and fear of death but in a retrospective and slightly tongue-in-cheek way,” the singer shares.
Using the track as a retelling of his experience, the single helps to give fans a glimpse into what the singer went through and showcases just how far he’s come since then- both having to learn not only how to sing again after his brain surgery but also how to talk.
A perfect example of Darro’s strength and perseverance, this track is a perfect introduction to the singer’s repertoire and future works with producer Kris Crummett.
