The musical project of singer/songwriter Dean Emerson, Dead Emerson, started 2020 off strong with the release of their first single of the year “24,” earlier this summer. And though he is just starting out his career, Emerson is rapidly launching on the path of success with the release of his new single “Sucker Punch.”

A song about longing for a love that feels like having the wind knocked out of you or a “sucker punch” that takes your breath away (in the band’s terms) “Sucker Punch” is a track all about falling in love.

With a very catchy beat, and a chorus that will be stuck in your head for hours (in the best way) “Sucker Punch” is easily one of our favorite tracks of the week.

And better than the song alone, the track also came alongside an aesthetically pleasing new music video, co-directed by Emerson and Dean Parker, which stars Emerson and actress Megan Chumbley as a couple struggling to reach an agreement on their relationship status via several over exaggerated acts of “affection.”
