When you first begin to fall for someone, nothing they do seems to be flawed. You find yourself head over heels and begin to imagine yourself spending the rest of your days with this person- even if there are red flags you’re choosing to ignore.
It is this feeling and the subsequent loss of logical thinking that comes with falling in love that inspired DYLYN’s newest single “Let You.”
A pop song with catchy synths and percussion, “Let You” is an ode to illogical love.
With lyrics such as “don’t care because I want to take this road too far,” “I’ll let you rip me apart” DYLYN’s powerful vocals tell the story of a potentially toxic relationship that she can’t seem to quit no matter how hard she tries.
And though the warning signs are there, she doesn’t care as long as she has their love.
Co-written by Ryan Guldemond, “Let You” also featured a subtle nod to the singer’s late grandmother, who was an opera singer and passed away just before recording the song.
“I showed Ryan some of my videos of her singing to my little cousin. We decided to turn her haunting operatic vocal into the synth hook at the beginning of the record. We called it the “gram hook,” through which she lives within the song forever.”
