Eighty Ninety are sending their well wishes to their exes with the release of their new single, “Happier.”

Released this morning, “Happier” is the latest single by the Brooklyn based duo, consisting of brothers Harper and Abner James.

Co-created with producer Gian Stone, the new song tells the tale of an amicable breakup, where one party wishes the other the best, no matter how painful the end of their relationship might be.

With folk-tinged acoustic guitar driving the track over soft percussion and gentle vocals, the track reminisces the better times during the relationship, including taking their partner out “instead of paying rent,” along with the post-breakup phone calls that last all night.

The lyrics are mixed with raw emotions and honesty, serving as an ode to maturity and accepting that sometimes you just aren’t a good fit, no matter how much love you share.

“Happier” is the second single Eighty Ninety has released this year, following “Know Me,” back in April, and the first to be released from their collaboration with Stone- giving us a good indication that whatever music is coming up next- we’re probably going to love.

You can stream both tracks now, wherever you stream music, and be sure to follow the band on their social media accounts to stay up to date on all upcoming new tunes.
