Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation is partnering up with Detroit’s Downtown Boxing Gym in an effort to help raise money to fight COVID-19 related loss.

Released yesterday as part of a Black Friday meets the 20th anniversary of The Marshall Mathers LP, the rap legend announced an exclusive merchandise line that would help raise money for the Downtown Boxing Gym (DBG) in his home city of Detroit.

Featuring a hoodie and a t-shirt reading “Stan’s Boxing Gym,” priced at $60 and $30 respectively, the collaboration will donate 100% of the proceeds to DBG in an effort to help them keep their free student programs going and operating safety in this time of global uncertainty.

Downtown Boxing Gym’s Plan of Action

The Downtown Boxing Gym is a free after school program that helps children of Detroit both academically and athletically.

With programs for helping with school, health resources, social and emotional workshopping, and other methods of care, the gym aids children and teens in their path to success- all for no cost to them or their families.

But with the COVID-19 pandemic causing the Gym to shut their doors for a brief time and lose some funding, DGB has been attempting to re-establish themselves and get back to helping save and shape young lives- something The Marshall Mathers Foundation has been vocal about assisting, and hopes to achieve with their new collaboration.

“We’re facing a crisis like we’ve never seen and we’re doing everything we can to support our kids and help them make it through,” DGB’s founder Khali Sweeney shared. “To have Eminem and the Marshall Mathers Foundation step up during this time and help raise much needed funds means the world to us. This is what we do in the D. We take care of each other. And we are truly grateful.”
