Erin Kirby first landed on our release radar when she debuted her gut wrenching single “Half In Love” last year. And today we are thrilled to announced that the songstress has once more caught our attention with the release of her new single “Bad Luck.”
A dark but beautifully sung pop track, “Bad Luck” is Kirby’s first single of the year and features music producer Zac Lawson.
Putting Kirby’s delicate yet distinct vocals and songwriting on full display, “Bad Luck” features lyrics about rethinking past relationships and wondering if you have had bad luck in love or just have been taking the blame for other’s short comings. Navigating the difficulties of being honest with ourselves and those around us when it comes to expressing our inner thoughts and emotions- the song is a reflective track that listener’s can see themselves in- especially if they too have experienced a difficult relationship coming to an end.
“‘Bad Luck’ refers to how we tend to cover up our feelings around others,” Kirby shared. “I find that I do this especially when we are in a bad relationship. I tend to just hold onto things and say “It’s my fault” or “I must be the problem.” I think we’ve all felt this at one point or another- that we must have bad luck, wishing we could find an easy way out.”
You can stream “Bad Luck” as well as Kirby’s previous singles “Practice Girlfriend” and “Half in Love,” out now wherever you stream music.
