I think it’s fair to say that with everything going on in 2020, a lot people may be in a sort of funk. And I think I got some medicine for everyone in the form of music.
How about some funk to get you out of your “funk”?
Enter London’s Fox Jacksons debut single “Behind Close Doors”- an amalgamate of funk, pop, and soul into one track with airy vocals and a punching bass line, reminiscing the style of “pop-funk.”
Seconds in and “Behind Closed Doors” will easily get you to move and bob your head back and forth with the fat, protruding bassline that is sure to catch your attention and draw you in- after all, who doesn’t like a good funk bassline?
With Jackson’s smooth, light vocals truly opening up the song and adding elements of pop, coupled with classic funk guitars wah’ing to and from with a hint of old fashion jazz-fusion- “Behind Closed Doors” comes together to create a soothing, yet upbeat pop funk sound to get your day started.
The only downside I could find was that it wasn’t long enough!
A song everyone should check out, this track will hit especially hard with fans of similarly sounding artists Vulfpeck and Stuff or anyone that likes to move.
Fox Jackson launched his career in the entertainment industry at just 11 years old, when he landed the lead role as Billy Elliot, in the hit West End musical, “Billy Elliot the Musical.” Since then, Jackson has garnered acclaim from the likes of Live Nation’s Ones To Watch and Earmilk to name a few.
