It’s been two and a half years since any new music has come from former One Directioner Harry Styles.

Following the release of his debut album “Harry Styles,” in 2017, the pop star completed several tours, including two in the US, but then took a break from the faced paced life of music to pursue his interests in fashion, film, and television.

But now, a seeming lifetime later, Styles has broken his social media hiatus and released new music.

“Lights Up” which dropped at midnight, is Style’s most experimental track to date, featuring a strong mix of alternative and indie sounds compared to his pop upbringing.

The track has already reached #1 on the iTunes chart in several countries and has gotten fans riled up for the expected announcement of a second album.

Some fans have also compared the new song to the works of previous indie pop greats, such as George Michael, David Bowie, and Mick Jagger.
