Hayley Williams is making a new name for herself.
And we are Here. For. It.
After rising to prominence as the frontwoman for pop-rock band Paramore, Williams solidified her position as one of the most powerful voices in the alternative music scene.
After several lineup changes, the formation and success of her hair dye company, and several other ventures, Williams is now taking her career a step further- by pursuing a solo music career.
After teasing new music for the better part of this month, Williams finally announced to fans that she would be creating music under a new name- Petals For Armor.
And today, after weeks of waiting, the first track “Simmer,” is here.
Co-written by fellow Paramore member Taylor York and close friend Joey Howard, “Simmer” explores the delicate balance between “wrath and mercy,” via lyrics about Williams’ own internal struggles.
With light, almost airy vocals but a darker tone and lyrics, the song expresses a brand new side to the singer- greatly contrasting her previous up-beat Paramore persona and vocal styling.
