As if the spontaneous releases of “Leave It Alone” and “Simmer,” weren’t already the best two things to come out of 2020, Hayley Williams has once more surprised fans with a brand new single, along with the release of “Petals For Amor I” – the first part of her upcoming album “Petals For Armor.”
“Cinnamon,” which dropped at noon is the third single to be released off of William’s upcoming solo album.
The track, which has strong indie-rock vibes as opposed to the previous two’s ambient sounds, also came alongside a music video, which serves as the third installment in what we hope will turn into a “Petals For Armor” series (think Fall Out Boy “Young Blood Chronicles).
The video stars Williams and opens on her waking up in the same room she is cocooned in throughout the “Leave It Alone” video, surrounded by webbing. She then stumbles out of the room, revealing that she is in the same house the “Simmer” video takes place in.
The next three minutes feature the singer escaping various morph suit clad figures, before joining them in a dance.
Potentially representing coming to terms with your own inner demons?
We’re unsure, but we know one thing: we love this new side of Hayley.
“I’m not lonely babe, I’ve been free”
“Petals For Armor” will be Williams’ first release since Paramore’s “After Laughter” in 2017. It is set to release May 8th, and pre-orders are available now alongside some merch bundles on the Petals For Armor website.
And be sure to stream “Cinnamon,” and the rest of “Petals For Armor I,” out now.
