There are people in this world who thrive on getting a rise out of those around them. Whether it be through bitting comments, constant criticism or an unfounded need to play Devil’s Advocate, there will almost always be someone in the room that thrives off of being contrarian.
And though it is easy to find yourself becoming frustrated with these types of folks and ready at a moments notice to scold them with a quick comeback of your own- Illinois rock band Icon For Hire are here to remind us all that it’s just not worth it to waste our hate.
Released this morning, “Waste My Hate” is the band’s latest single, following last year’s “Last One Standing,” “Seeds” and “Curse or Cure” as the latest addition to their upcoming album, Amorphous.
Written as an ode to taking the high road and not letting the “haters” get you down, “Waste My Hate” features the band’s signature punchy rock sound with a high energy level that is sure to get you amped up and ready to kill everyone with kindness.
With a catchy chorus that will have you singing along by the second verse, the song helps turn any pent up angst into a pure desire for movement, whether that be making you want to dance or sign up for a kick boxing class to help get out any remaining frustrations.
“It is a reminder to stand your ground, fight for what you believe in, and not get sucked into the bullshit along the way,” vocalist Ariel Bloomer shared.
The world is already full of so much hate, there’s no need to add to it.
You can stream the new single out now, and be sure to stay tuned for Amorphous out February 19th.
