Does your weekly Spotify playlist need some updating? Well we have the perfect solution for you.

Meet The Weekend Run Club.

A five piece band made up of friends Mitchell Kinn, Christopher Bryant, Joey Resko, Haley Blomquist and Bridget Stiebris, The Weekend Run Club are a Chicago based indie rock band who are about to play their way into your hearts.

After hitting the scene with their EP “Okay For You,” in 2018 The Weekend Run Club began to gain quite a following- amassing nearly 500 followers on Spotify, along with 9,000 monthly listeners.

Then, after a year of writing and recording, the band released their debut album “Zoo,” just under two weeks ago- and it is one of our favorite releases of 2020.

Attributing their sound to the likes of twenty one pilots, Hippo Campus, Modest Mouse, and Turnover, The Weekend Run Club are a unique group- with more than one genre to label themselves by.

And with songs for every mood, “Zoo” is a perfect representation of the band’s range both musically and lyrically.

Worried about becoming an adult? Check out “All My Friends Are Dead.”

Unsure how you feel? Stream the entire album.

Describing their “Zoo” as a “twelve track escapade through themes of heartbreak, self-identity, grief and love,” The Weekend Run Club are here to give listeners their take on growing up and existing in a world that sometimes feels out to get us.

With relatable lyrics and a sound that feels familiar yet brand new at the same time, we can’t get enough of “Zoo,”- and we hope you feel the same way.

“Someone help me take control / I feel left out, emotional. Someone help me understand…”
