It looks like Alex Gaskarth isn’t the only member of All Time Low to start a side project duo.

Earlier today Jack Barakat, ATL’s lead guitarist and hype man, announced that he was joining friend Kevin Fisher in a new project titled Who Hurt You.

The duo made this announcement via a short video, where Barakat discusses his private struggles with fame and relationships, and how a jam session with Fisher sparked new inspiration.

“I’ve always felt that I’ve had to portray myself a certain way online,” Barakat says. “Kinda be this comic relief, someone who’s always in a positive mental state. And it’s not the truth. It’s not real.”

“We kinda realized we were going through very similar things in life,” Fisher adds. “And these songs just started coming, and I think it was because we had something real to talk about.”

“As unplanned as it was, if these songs helped us so much, maybe they can help other people.”

While nothing has been released yet, the band has tweeted one other message, solely reading “6/21” alongside a photo of their band’s logo.

Perhaps their first song release date?

We’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

And who knows- maybe we’ll see a Simple Creatures x Who Hurt You tour soon?
