Jeb Bush Orchestra, a Boston Funk band have been making their rounds in the local music scene for a few years now and their incredible talent has already given us an abundance of groovy tunes to enjoy.
Just a couple days ago, the group released their follow-up sophomore album, ‘Greatest Hits, Vol. II’ and it is without a doubt one of our favorite releases of the summer; Not only because they are local to us but because who doesn’t have a soft spot for Funk.
The album itself consists of 9 tracks total and the entirety of the track list can be viewed below:
Greatest Hits, Vol. II
1. Swimming with Dolphins
2. Heavy Heavy
3. Jeremy, Miles, and Duncan
4. Kung Fu Steve
5. Hooker Street
6. Space & Time
7. Lucy, You Sneaky Snake
8. Randers
9. That I Need
With groovy bass melodies, lovely guitar tones and a punchy beat at the heart of the tracks, the opening song ‘Swimming with Dolphins’ truly helped to set the pace for the rest.
Although much of their work is strictly instrumental, which most Funk tends to heavily emphasize, the vocal work on the tracks ‘Heavy Heavy’, ‘Space & Time’, and ‘That I Need’ was brilliant and only reinforces how creative, and talented the group is.
A few of our favorites from the album include ‘Space & Time’, ‘Kung Fu Steve’, which has an beautifully catchy guitar riff that’ll get you on your feet, and of course, how could we forget, ‘Jeremy, Miles and Duncan’. One of the most impressive aspects of their new album is the ability to flawlessly incorporate and emphasize the wide range of instruments used within Jeb Bush Orchestra.
