Indie rocker Jon Worthy is transforming into The Joker this week with the release of his new single and accompanying music video, “Don’t You Feel It.”
An upbeat, easy to dance to single, “Don’t You Feel It” recounts feelings of unrequited love and a never-ending quest to find that special someone.
With a somewhat nostalgic quality to it, the single documents the process of attempting to find love in all the wrong places, pining after those who aren’t interested or trying to win over someone who is already dating someone else.
Using Worthy’s natural indie rock vibe mixed with a touch of a sound that is reminiscent of 70s rock, “Don’t You Feel It” has you wanting to groove around your living room while blasting the track at full volume and rethinking your own path to love.
As for the accompanying music video, Worthy does almost just that.
Taking inspiration from the character of The Joker, one of Batman’s most infamous of enemies, Worthy showcases a quest to win over a woman who has clearly already found her ideal partner- playing up the idea that he is just a man looking for love in all the wrong places.
“In some ways, I related to a lot of the character’s inner demons of not being noticed or fully desired,” Worthy shares. “This song seemed like a perfect landscape to portray that character in my own way with my music. Joker, like most people, just wants love. When we don’t get that emotion in return we find ourselves asking, don’t you feel it too?”
