Rising “emocore” act Karma Kids are hitting us hard this week with the release of their new single “Nightmare.”
Released this past Friday, “Nightmare” features Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn and delves into the concept of control, self fulfilling prophecies and trying to battle your internal demons while managing your outward existence.
Featuring darker and angst driven lyrical content, along with a mix of classic pop punk and metal core inspired instrumentals, “Nightmare” is a track perfect for any existential crisis- allowing you to get lost in the depths of your mind while also encouraging you to battle the internal struggles to create a better life for yourself.
“Nightmare is a dark track about forgetting who you are and harvesting the darkest corners of your consciousness into a power you can control,” vocalist Jon Benjamin shares.
As for the track’s feature, Benjamin confesses that working with Quinn was a ‘dream come true’ of sorts- after following his career from the beginning.
“The first time I saw Kellin perform, Sleeping With Sirens was a relatively unknown band. Watching their exponential growth and Kellin’s growth as a musician left me with a specific sound I wanted to see out of a vocalist. Finally getting to work with him just made everything really come in full circle. I had a basic scratch track and he ran with it and fucking killed it!”
You can stream “Nightmare,” out now wherever you stream music- and keep an eye out for Karma Kids’ sophomore album vibes. out June 11.
