Sometimes the hardest part of life is acknowledging you deserve better and making the change to get there. In Kayla Diamond’s new single, this is exactly the theme she navigates as she explores a less than fulfilling relationship. 

Titled “50/50,” the new pop track is- at its core- a message of empowerment for anyone who has ever felt as though they have been slighted by someone else in their life- be it a friend, romantic partner or even family member. 

Encouraging listeners to stand up for themselves and leave any situation that doesn’t serve them or to walk away from people who don’t treat them with respect, the track is a reminder that there is no shame in knowing what you want and not settling for less. 

“Sometimes you need to show yourself some love, even if it means hurting someone else,” Diamond shares. “Lots of people will hear this song and think it’s just about a spoiled relationship, but to me it’s so much more than that. It’s about recognizing that you deserve better than what you’re being given. It’s about removing unwanted toxicity from your life.”
