We may be late to the game, but Lauren Sanderson is an artist that is impossible to ignore, and her new track “QUEEN BEE” deserves all of the attention it can get.
A fun alt pop single, “QUEEN BEE” marks Sanderson’s second release since announcing her re-launch as an independent artist earlier this year, and gives fans a taste of what is to come from the genre-defying singer just one year after dropping her debut album Midwest Kinds Can Make It Big.
Lyrically exploring the feeling of being completely infatuated with someone to the point of feeling inexplicably in love (or at least in lust), “QUEEN BEE” is an anthem made for anyone who falls hard and fast.
Both hyping up the other person and sharing a willingness to get hurt in the process, as well as acknowledging that with this sudden rush often comes a bit of self doubt, or the chance that the recipient of your affection may not reciprocate those feelings, the song is a relatable release that helps you let loose and get into your own “feels.”
And though this track slightly veers from the subtlety and vulnerability of Sanderson’s stripped back track, “Hi.” “QUEEN BEE” excites fans by getting into a rock-tinged mood with gritty vocals, smooth instrumentals and a catchy chorus that will have you hitting repeat in your brain for hours on end- a perfect example of Sanderson’s talents and songwriting abilities that leave us hopeful for the year ahead.
You can stream both “QUEEN BEE” and “Hi.” both out now, wherever you stream music, and be sure to follow Lauren Sanderson via the links below for updates on all things new content.
