Machine Gun Kelly and Corpse made waves last week when they released their energetic new single “DAYWALKER!” and this week the duo are back again with a brand new music video.
Starring Kelly and esports icon Valkyrae- who steps in for Corpse in an effort to keep the deep-voiced personality’s identity a secret- the video is equally as punchy and fun as the song itself.
Opening on a scene of Kelly fighting with someone else in a parking lot, the video transitions into what appears to be Kelly in an interrogation room- continuing on to showcase what seems to be a split between Kelly himself and the voice inside his head.
As for Corpse’s verses, the video showcases Valkyrae donning the singer’s infamous glowing red eye and an all black outfit, helping to breathe life into the man behind the voice who is normally only represented by a similarly dressed animation.
Then splitting between shots of Valkyrae and Kelly, the video intensifies with clips of yelling and fighting- keeping energy levels high through the use of jump cuts, fake blood and a joker-esque smile that will have you feeling chills.
But perhaps the most impressive part of the video is the fact that the video came together extremely quickly- having only filmed the opening and Valkyrae’s scenes at the time of the announcement just one day prior.
