Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker are becoming the new dynamic duo in pop punk. Seeing one release a song without the other almost feels odd now, after their year long collaboration working on MGK’s Tickets To My Downfall and the subsequent film Downfalls High. But this week, Barker isn’t the only iconic emo legend being brought along for the ride as MGK has also recruited Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn for his brand new track, “love race.”
The second collaboration between Kelly and Quinn, following the rapper’s verse on Sleeping With Sirens’ “Alone” in 2013, “love race” combines elements of both vocalists styles in a way that feels quintessentially pop punk.
A song about doing anything you can to stay with someone you love and finding your way back to them, the song is considered an ‘anthem for hopeless romantics’ and quite honestly serves as a great follow up from the duo’s previous collab.
This collaboration comes just a few days after Kelly announced his Tickets To My Downfall tour, which went on sale today.
