Indie rock band Marcelyn, the band have just announced the release date of their upcoming album.
Monstrous Existence, which is set to debut on September 25th marks the bands third full length release, following Is This Woman’s Lib? in 2019 and Indignities & Depravities in 2018.
This album announcement also follows the release of the band’s two recent singles, “Quarantine Song” and “Empty Room,” which were both released this summer.
Originally formed by vocalist and ukulele player Marcelyn Lebovitz that eventually grew to include her brother Mike Lebovitz on bass and Travis Martin on drums, keyboard and guitar, Marcelyn, the band are a Philadelphia based indie/alt rock trio.
Embracing the ever-changing year that is 2020, the band found themselves overcoming new challenges this summer while being restricted to playing live stream shows only, and navigating the difficulties of recording an album while working remotely.
“Recording this album remotely really made us rethink our writing process and how we work out songs,” the band shared. “Because we had to send full parts back and forth, we had fully formed ideas of how a part should go, or where a change should be made, and having that mapped out made a big difference.”
