A little over a month ago, Our Last Night broke the news in a tweet that they would be collaborating with the one and only, Derek DiScanio from State Champs.
While fans were unsure of what to expect, they were sent into a frenzy filled with excitement and eagerness to hear what they were working on in the studio.
Many wondered whether they would be releasing a cover of a popular track, as Our Last Night often does, or if they were creating an entirely original song together.
The hype for collaboration was apparent and the past month has felt like an eternity but the wait is officially over…and you’re going to want to sit down for this one.
The group teamed up with DiScanio to cover the popular Ariana Grande song “7 Rings”. That’s right, Our Last Night has once again taken a song from the pop charts to cover and at the same time produced a music video to go along with it.
Fans were absolutely ecstatic about the cover as well as the video. One person even tweeted at Ariana Grande saying “Hey Ari, I found your opening band.”
Ariana certainly wouldn’t be disappointed if she took Our Last Night or State Champs on tour, although it highly unlikely.
With OLN covering songs from pop artists such as Katy Perry, Camila Cabello and even Panic! At The Disco, they were certainly no stranger to recreating popular songs, adding their own flare to it in the process.
Just a little over 2 weeks after the release of their fifth studio album “Let Light Overcome”, which has received a lot of praise as being one of their best albums yet, OLN is absolutely killing it right now.
As they wrap up their time with State Champs on the “Living Proof Tour”, we can only hope that they’ll be out on the road again soon for their own headlining tour.
