Outline in Color are ready to kick off the new year with a bang.
Released this morning, the Oklahoma based post-hardcore band have just given fans a new peek into their upcoming EP with the release of their new single “Today’s Western.”
A eclectic sound featuring a mix of rock, hardcore, r&b and pop, Outline in Color use “Today’s Western” as a way of both showcasing their musical abilities while also sharing an important message with their listeners.
“Today’s Western encourages you to step back and reconsider your perspective on reality as you know it,” vocalist Michael Skaggs shared. “Whether through acts of survival or strings pulled by external forces, one can become shielded from a reality so clear to all but themselves. Are you serving yourself, or are you a pawn in someone else’s game of chess?”
Using driving baselines, heavy percussion- the band amplify the emotions behind the lyrics with instrumental intensity, keeping listener’s engaged and ready to rage.
This single marks the second release from the band’s upcoming EP Imposter Syndrome Pt. 2, following last year’s “Poison Prescribed As Medicine.” Set to release April 23rd, fans can pre-order the EP here.
You can stream “Today’s Western,” out now and stay tuned for Imposter Syndrome Pt. 2.
