Hailing from Scotland, pop-punk band, Parallel Lights is hoping to carve a niche for itself with its release of “Run Away.”
Reminiscent and inspired by the likes of Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, and Blink 182. The band intends for the song to be a hopeful journey that explores the human element of running away while reaffirming that its ok to do so.
The quartet came together in mid-2015, which consisted of Shane Stevens (Drums), Jamie Morrow (Guitar, Vocals), and Paul Newling (Bass, Vocals). In 2018, Ryan Zdrojewski (Guitar, Vocals) joined to help launch Parallel Lights even higher.
With humble beginnings, they launched as an atypical pop-punk band full of adrenaline and raw energy. Along with the aforementioned bands, the group likens themselves to Green Day, Sum 41, Good Charlotte, and many others. They have since developed their own unique sound over the years.
Previous singles, “Moving on,” “He Said, She Said,” and “Worlds Collide” have been met with critical success. And the band is hoping to reach that same peak with the release of its newest single “Run Away,” which was released on July 23rd.
The song is a mix of hope and powerful vocals that aim to uplift us all through our daily struggles. Along with the official release, the band has a video to accompany these themes of hope and courage.
If you are a Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, or All Time Low fan then this song will make the perfect addition to your Spotify playlist.
Parallel Lights reminds us to fight another day.
