The sun may no longer be in Gemini but that doesn’t mean we can’t stop embracing the power of duality. That’s the exploration Penny Bored is taking with their new pop-rock anthem “Gemini.”

Penny Bored, aka Faith Alesia, originally wrote the song as a way to cope and process their recent diagnosis of bipolar disorder, but the song as has since transformed into new meaning as Alesia embraces their non-binary gender identity.

In the accompanying video Penny Bored faces their very own Gemini twin. By playing on the horoscope symbol of twins and personifying the notion of the rise and falls of emotions, moods, and motivation levels making one feel like they are different versions of themselves.

At its core “Gemini” is an emotional anthem about feeling like you truly don’t know yourself and maybe that feeling is ok to have.

Written with raw honest emotion, this track has the listener hooked with an upbeat rhythmic line and gritty guitar riffs coupled with a catchy chorus one can’t help but scream along.

By fusing pop-rock with indie and electronic elements Penny Bored has created a soundscape that feels familiar and reminiscent of the early 2000’s emo scene but still fresh enough to find a nice home in today’s music landscape.
