Pinkshift are getting fans hyped this Friday with the release of their new EP Saccharine.
A five track release, Saccharine features previously released singles “On Thin Ice,” “Rainwalk,” “i’m gonna tell my therapist on you,” “Toro” along with today’s new track “Mars.”
A fresh recording of one of the band’s original demo track, “Mars” is a punchy punk rock track about starting over and trying to find your place in the world- or for the sake of the song- Mars.
And as the opening track on the EP, for listeners who have yet to experience Pinkshift’s style, “Mars” serves as a great beginning and dive into their discography.
“The lyrics of the song are about the beginnings of something shiny and new,” vocalist Ashrita Kumar shares of the new single. “Ironically this was the song that really pulled us together to start this band – it’s full of optimism and hope for a brighter future. It feels fitting to put a spin on our original demo this year for the same message with a touch of angst”
Pinkshift debuted last year with their first single “On Thin Ice,” as a four piece punk rock band from Philadelphia. In the short year since their debut, the band have amassed over 73 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify alone, and continue to grow as one of the scene’s best rising acts- today’s EP only further proving their drive and talent.
They may only just be beginning, but we know this band is going to be one of the next big things. And we cannot wait to see where they go from here.
Fans can purchase the debut LP now, via Bandcamp, and stream both “Mars” and Saccharine in full, wherever you stream music.
