It is officially Pride month, and that means that Second Society Report is devoting this month to highlighting LGBT+ members of our community and their favorite tracks.

Starting today, we will be updating our site with daily Pride Anthems, all of which will be songs submitted by members of the LGBT community. Each song will be accompanied by a brief bio about the artist and the track, and a paragraph from the person who submitted it explaining why the song means something to them.

And today, we are kicking things off with a fan and author favorite, “Juice” by Lizzo.

Released on January 4th of this year, Lizzo’s body positive anthem “Juice” has swept the nation and quickly become a household favorite.

With lyrics all about loving yourself and lifting up those around you with your positive vibes, “Juice” is one of Lizzo’s many tracks that make us want to get up and dance.

And we aren’t the only ones.

This track was submitted to us via Reddit user Chris (@topheriffic) who loves Lizzo’s support for the LGBT community in addition to her powerful vocals.

“Lizzo is very body positive, is an ally, and her lyrics make you happy about yourself. I love the beats and the feeling of confidence that she inspires from her lyrics.”

“This lyric is something to live by: “If I’m shining, everybody gonna shine.” Great fun summer music.”
