Rachel Chinouriri is an artist you do not want to ignore, and her new single “Can We Talk About Isaac?” is here to show you why.
The first single to be released from Chinouriri’s newly announced EP Little House, set to debut April 4th, “Can We Talk About Isaac?” takes listeners on a journey through finding and falling in love. From documenting the process of doubting yourself on a first date and slowly beginning to develop feelings to the thought of this new person consuming every ounce of your brain and needing to talk to someone about them, the track navigates all of the excitement and fear that comes with starting something new.
As for the track’s inspiration? That comes from Chinouriri’s own experience falling for her very own Isaac.
“I write songs from a place of trauma but since releasing my album, I’ve consistently been in therapy and fell in love. Isaac makes me feel so protected and I’ve never felt protected really in my life, especially from men. I just felt so much of a new emotion I decided to let myself write about how much I love him, no matter what happens the fact that Isaac is the first and only guy to make me feel like this is special,” Chinouriri shares of the song’s backstory.
“It’s a shame that it took that to love myself but Isaac is my hero and I hope this fairytale never ends.”
After releasing her 2024 album What A Devastating Turn of Events, Chinouriri quickly became the subject of mainstream media attention. Tapped as one of the biggest breakout pop stars of 2024, the 26 year old British singer has amassed a cool three million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, and today’s announcement is likely to bring her even more.
