Real Friends are once more causing fans to have a Twitter meltdown after officially deleting all traces of their social media accounts.
Early this morning, both the bands Twitter and Instagram accounts were stripped of all content. Their follower counts remain intact.
This change comes just two weeks after the band announced a massive merchandise sale stating “everything must go.”
Now, with no seeming explanation for the band’s actions- fans are in full panic mode, worried this means that the band is done for good.
One fan even noticed that the Real Friends Instagram no longer follows frontman Dan Lambton on the platform.
(Lambton does however follow Real Friends on both Instagram and Twitter, and is still followed by the band on their Twitter account.)
Others are comparing the stunt to that of fellow pop-punk band Grayscale, who announced a lineup change earlier last year as a publicity stunt in anticipation of a new music video.
While we are unsure of what’s going on we hope that this means new music and not a breakup. But just in case, we’re going to listen to “I’ve Given Up On You” on repeat and maybe cry.
