Sad Summer has officially sent the pop-punk scene into a frenzy last week when news broke that they are potentially carrying on the torch as the new king of the “emo” summer tour.
A few days ago, State Champs, The Maine, Mayday Parade and a few others posted a short clip to their twitter feeds. The video itself was nothing other than a distorted logo with the words “Sad Summer.”
Many fans began to have their interest piqued as they began wondering what “Sad Summer” was and where will it take place.
Curiosity was further brought on by each band posting a link to a supposed Sad Summer Festival website along with each video, and a date reading “3.19.19”.
With the date rapidly approaching, some fans have speculated that this rumored festival could essentially be taking over as the new multiple city, summer long tour, following Warped Tour’s final cross country run in 2018.
There have been leaks in the twitterverse showing what could potentially be the full lineup for Sad Summer Festival and it certainly does not disappoint if true. The list posted by the twitter user “@concertleaks” mentioned that the bands from the website came from the “Artist” page itself.
The “Artist” page was not locked behind a password allowing anyone to view the bands that were playing the festival, hence the information released below.
So far the confirmed list of bands that will be playing Sad Summer Festival, includes:
- State Champs
- The Maine
- Mayday Parade
- Stand Atlantic
- The Wonder Years
- Mom Jeans
- Just Friends
The social media accounts for Sad Summer follows all of the listed band’s from the leak but a few of them have yet to post the short video clip or be confirmed by reps at Sad Summer. The remaining that are unconfirmed include:
- Panic! At The Disco
- All Time Low
- Fall Out Boy
- Neck Deep
- Four Year Strong
- Set It Off
- Every Avenue
- Emo Nite
While the leaked lineup is a dream come true, anybody following the festival since its announcement will have to wait until tomorrow at 12 noon (EST) before any more information is released to public. Everything else is up for speculation.
Stay tuned for more information tomorrow, as Sad Summer will hopefully be updating us with a full list of performers along with dates and cities.
