A powerful and romantic acoustic track about falling in love, “Summer Time” is the debut single by Montreal’s Silk Tonic- and it is one you do not want to miss out on.
A duo made up of childhood friends Matthew Brouillet (vocals, percussion) and Mark Hodges (lead guitar, bass) Silk Tonic made their public debut last Friday with the release of their first single “Summer Time.”
Inspired by the true story of Brouillet meeting a girl who took his breath away (and subsequently became his partner) “Summer Time” is a light acoustic track about falling in love and suddenly finding yourself completely enamored with another person.
“As soon as he sees her, she is all he can think about. It’s a lovestruck moment of euphoria, in which he’s struggling to keep his composure and feels emotionally overwhelmed.”

With smooth vocals and gentle guitar that will have you swaying along as you listen, “Summer Time” brings listeners to a place of warmth and relaxation- reminiscent of feeling butterflies and carefree faith that comes with a new relationship- regardless of what’s happening outside of their headphones.
And though the song was just released under a week ago, it has already amassed over 3.5k listens on Spotify alone- giving a good indication that Silk Tonic have succeeded in creating one of the best new songs of the summer.
