It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted a new Song of the Week, but we are back with a song that will surely have you all moving in your seats.
This week’s song of the week is… “Tilted,” by Christine and the Queens.
“Tilted” was the third single released by Christine and the Queens, a French band made up of singer Héloïse Letissier (Chris) and her backing instrumentalists.
Originally released in 2015, “Tilted” is the English version of the band’s French track “Christine.” The original version was released in 2014 as a single off of their album “Chaleur Humaine.”
The track peaked at number 2 on the UK Indie charts, and was critically acclaimed as one of “the best songs of 2015” according to Time magazine.
And with lyrics all about feeling out of place in the world and trying to adjust to being “off balance,” we certainly understand why they thought so!
As for why “Tilted” is this week’s song of the week? That’s simple: it’s a great song! And, Second Society Report is a little late to the game on Christine and the Queens.
But, after seeing Chris and their dancer’s perform at Boston Calling this past weekend, it’s clear that they are not a band to be slept on.
