After a nearly two year hiatus from music, singer/songwriter Tafari Anthony has made his return to music- reminding us all he is a voice to be listened to.

The singer, who released his first return single “Centerfold,” back in March, has just released his second track- pop-inspired “Live in a Dream,” which dropped earlier this month and reminds listeners that despite external pressure to fit in and keep the status quo- they were born to stand out and follow their own dreams.

“We are constantly trying to strive for more, and I know personally I feel a great deal of failure or shame if I don’t live upto expectations. Far too often in my career I’ve had many people try to tell me who I should be and try to mold me into something that they’ve already seen. The promise of a greater future if you do this and that, had me do many things I would’ve never done in order to chase someone else’s vision. But I had to slow down and stop worrying about what I don’t have, and who I don’t know and be happy to live my own personal journey.”

Similarly to “Centerfold,” the new single features elements of pop fused with genre bending beats- with Anthony citing artists such as HolyChild, Seinabo Sey and Labrinth as playing an influential part in the construction of the song’s sonic profile.

Driven by uptempo percussion, the track makes listeners want to dance while also contemplating the reality of the lyrics, which share the singer’s struggle to break out of the mold those closest to him often want him to conform to.

But despite external pressures, this track proves that Anthony is here to forge his own path- and we are so excited to see where that leads.
