The Safest Ledge are kicking it up a notch with their brand new single “Grey Matter.”

Debuting this afternoon via BVTV, “Grey Matter” is the latest single by the Ohio rockers, which will officially be available via streaming platforms this Friday.

The fast paced rock track features a mix of clean vocals and heavier screams, which keeps listeners on their toes as the perfectly balanced mix of instrumentals drive the song and make listeners want to dance or lightly head-bang along.

With lyrics inspired by the mental battle of coming to terms with things that are out of our individual control, the track is both lyrically light while also expressing a sense of maturity. Listeners can easily pick up on the lyrics to sing along to by the second verse, making the track easily enjoyable, but they also are driven to think more about them at the song’s conclusion.

“Grey Matter is a deeply personal look into the gripe of accepting things that are out of your control. In past songs we had focused a great amount on the actions of ourselves and others; and things that we dictate ourselves as human actions. With Grey Matter, we wanted to highlight the helplessness and gloom of coming to terms with our limits and constraints. The way Grey Matter goes from hot to cold to hot to cold leaves an effect on you.“

With both “Grey Matter” and their last release “Mountain Eyes,” The Safest Ledge have found and honed their sound into their own- moving away from the labels of “sounding like xyz band” into their own category. They sound like The Safest Ledge, and we cannot wait to hear more.

The Safest Ledge are four piece rock band consisting of vocalist Kennedy Conti, guitarist Mason Boano, bassist Mike Orf, and drummer Joey Kova.

After growing up surrounded by a mix of emo, rock, punk and hardcore sounds, the band found their voice as somewhat a mix of all of the above- which they showcased on their debut EP “Double the Drifters, Half the Spirit” the same year.

Now, following the success of their single “Mountain Eyes,” which dropped earlier this year, the band are gearing up to release their sophomore EP- anticipated next month- with the official release of “Grey Matter” this Friday.
