If there is ever a time when we want to dye our hair bright colors and join a girl gang- it is after listening to Tramp Stamps. Especially after they just released their brand new single and got it stuck in our heads for the foreseeable future.
Titled “1-800-miss-ur-guts” the new single is the sophomore release from the colorful trio that is taking over TikTok. Known for their body and sex positivity as well as killer senses of style and iconic pink, blue and purple hair colors, the group have been teasing their new song for weeks only for it to officially drop yesterday and prove to fans once more that Tramp Stamps are no joke.
Following January’s debut single “Sex With Me,” which is a powerful first release calling out misogyny and toxic relationships, “1-800-miss-ur-guts” showcases the band’s softer side, while still honing in on their alt-pop roots.
Documenting a high school relationship that took a turn south, as well as the happier moments leading up to the breakup such as attending prom, going out and having a little too much fun- the single navigates what it’s like to grow up and move on from your school days while also still feeling a connection with that past special someone.
And though Tramp Stamps clearly take inspiration from past emo and punk vocalists- citing artists such as Avril Lavigne, Hayley Williams and Gwen Stefani as inspiration- their sound remains unique to them in a way that can only be described as a breath of fresh air.
