When the Warped Tour 25th Anniversary dates were announced on December 18th, we were not alone in being all about the hype.

Although Kevin Lyman, the creator of ‘Warped’, stated on many occasions that there were going to be shows “celebrating” the 25th Anniversary, many of the attendees of Warped’s final summer run believed Warped Tour was coming to an end.. for good.

And, while these fans weren’t entirely wrong, most didn’t pick up on the fact that Lyman and fellow organizers kept putting a hard emphasis on “FULL” cross-country tour. Warped Tour wasn’t done for good and they certainly had plenty of plans already set in motion to celebrate 25 years- as we learned in December when three separate Warped “festival” dates were announced.

Throughout its time over the past couple decades, Vans Warped Tour has been an outlet for people to see some of their favorite bands play all in one place. Whether you’re running from stage to stage to make sure you don’t miss a single moment of the action or you’re waiting in line for a meet & greet with a band you’ve seen a thousand times, every attendee of the tour has special memories that solidify just how special the tour has been.

Blistering heat or torrential downpour, the show must go on and that is exactly what we’re getting in 2019.

When Warped was founded by Kevin Lyman in 1994, it began as an idea for a small punk concert that toured across the country. In 1995, that plan was set in motion as the first ever Warped Tour began its trek from coast to coast on August 4th.

Showcasing bands such as No Doubt, Sublime, and the Deftones, Warped quickly rose in popularity, rivaling other summer tour festivals, including Lollapalooza.

When it began, it brought with it an energy that was unlike anything the world was used to seeing for a music festival. Alternative and punk styles were not only expanding within music but it was expanding in culture across the US.

While it was heavily focused on music, Warped Tour was also keen on giving its’ guest a show that they’d never forget. Some of their antics included bringing in popular skateboarders or pro BMX riders to hit a few ramps while the music continued on throughout the day.

With killer lineups and relatively low costs to attend, the power and fame of Vans Warped Tour continued to grow exponentially as the years passed on. Lyman and crew were doing what they do best- providing guests with an escape from reality for one day to listen to some of the best bands the punk/alternative scene had to offer.

25 years later, the country is ready to celebrate what could very well be the final Warped Tour.

And for those of you that are subscribed to Vans Warped Tour email/sms list, keep a look out for your chance to be part of the ticket presale that goes live on February 28th.

And for the rest of us, that may be unlucky and don’t receive a presale code, the general on-sale goes live live March 1st, hand in hand with the announcement of the lineup.

Now the only question is… who is going to headline?

We for sure are dying to find out.
