The past year has been anything but easy. With a global pandemic having us all worried about our health, our loved ones, and many of us struggling to find work after several industries were completely shut down, it feels safe to say that 2020 is not a year anyone wishes to remember. And now, as we cruise our way through 2021 and watch things slowly start to get better globally as the music industry begins to repair itself, we are given splashes of hope. One such splash coming in the form of an increase in new music from our favorite artists- including this past week’s new EP from Waxflower.
If there was ever a time to release an EP titled We Might Be Alright– this month would be it, and Waxflower have perfectly capitalized on this opportunity with the release of this five track collection.
Featuring three previously released singles (“Again” featuring Caitlin Henry, “Not Alone,” and “Food For Your Garden”) as well as two new tracks (“Fake Frown” and the title track), We Might Be Alright is a collection of songs about getting older, finding yourself, and navigating everything in between. A mix of alternative rock, indie pop and a splash of emo, the EP is especially crafted to capture the listener’s attention and bring them on a journey through relatable moments, feelings, and give them a sense of hope for the future.
Described as an album perfect for long drives with friends, Waxflower are perhaps the healthiest coping mechanism we could find for this year and we are so excited to hear where they go from here.
You can stream We Might Be Alright out now wherever you get your music, and be sure to follow Waxflower on social media to stay up to date on all future releases.
