It is a rare occurrence for classic Christmas songs to be redone in a way that appeals to audiences of all ages- especially those who are tied to their traditional tunes.

But every year, new and old artists alike take to the studio (or the video camera) to share their takes on some holiday hits that have us re-think our attachment to the past.

And this week, one of those fresh new takes comes from UK based rock band, We Three kings- who have shared a fantastic new rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”

Released to the band’s YouTube channel earlier this week as part of a Christmas thank you to their fans, the cover track is performed on an electric guitar by band member Rich Richards, who adds a rockin’ flair to the otherwise slower song.

“Thanks for your support this year, it has been a weird one, but we’ll be back in the new year with some brand new music and who knows, maybe some gigs,” the band shared. “Have a great Christmas and see you on the other side.”

With a fun Santa suit to add extra holiday spirit- the video and the band have helped lift our spirits in an otherwise uncertain holiday season.

You can listen to “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” on YouTube now, and be sure to stream the band’s latest non-Christmas single, “Savior Fair,” out now.
