We Were Sharks are ready to claim 2021 as their own.

After kicking off the year with their punk inspired single “Bring You Down” last month, the band are now treating fans with both another new song and the announcement of a brand new album.

The band’s second single of the year, “Problems,” dropped Friday and is a catchy pop rock track about the issues that arise in a relationship.

With upbeat instrumentals and quick to pick up on, relatable lyrics, “Problems” is the perfect anthem for anyone who has ever had a fight with their significant other that has resulted in saying things you wish you hadn’t.

But unlike the feelings you get in this situation, “Problems” will make you want to immediately go into a mosh pit and cut loose.

“Problems could be considered a typical song about a relationship. It’s about being with someone and passionately loving one another, being angry with one another, and overall, being stubborn,” vocalist Randy Frobel shares. “In the heat of the moment, we find ourselves saying things we never genuinely mean, and that’s where ‘problems’ can usually start. It’s not that the love between one another is gone, even when it sometimes feels like it; instead, it’s about needing to be heard.

As for the upcoming album, the band shared that the release would be titled New Low, and is set to debut May 21st.

New Low is a collection of songs that represents our proudest work to date,” the band shared via Instagram. “We challenged ourselves to go bigger on this album than we ever have. Since our last release, we’ve faced many challenges and changes in life, most of which we never asked for. We embraced it all and used it to fuel and motivate us to create New Low.”
