UPDATE: As of February 12th, Winnetka Bowling League have updated this merchandise release to raise funds for The Blue Card, a charity dedicated to helping Holocaust Survivors.
Winnetka Bowling League are doing their part to promote mental health care with the release of their new t-shirt.
A white t-shirt that simply reads “FUCK YE,” the new design is a direct call out for Kanye West, who made headlines this weekend after releasing his own white t-shirt. But instead of making merchandise to raise funds for the mental health care of his peers, West’s featured a bold black swastika directly in the center.
This release came after a slew of hateful Nazi propaganda posts (in addition to West’s other bigoted and offensive thoughts) were uploaded to West’s Twitter account this weekend, resulting in countless users requesting the rapper’s immediate removal from the site.
Winnetka Bowling League, on the other hand, took this opportunity to share their stance on the issues raised by West’s rant and help other artists while doing so- donating all proceeds to Backline, an organization that helps members of the music industry and their families mental health and wellness care.
