World’s First Cinema may have only debuted a short few months ago, but they are already mastering the art of creating infectious melodies, captivating visuals and music that will hit you in your mind, body and soul. A perfect example being this past week’s “Make Me A Monster.”
Released only 12 days ago and already reaching 48k streams on Spotify alone, and over 33k views on YouTube, “Make Me A Monster” is a dark, cinematic track that dives into the concept of being made out as someone you are not. Specifically, accepting the fact that sometimes people in your life may need to make you out as the bad guy in order to move on or justify any past behaviors.
And though the song may be about a situation that is less than ideal for anyone to go through, the duo are able to convey this message in a way that makes us ready to be made our own brand of monster- but only if this song plays while it happens.
As for the music video, the duo find themselves in the throes of a theatrical performance- with band member Fil Thorpe attempting to bring vocalist John Sinclair back to life for what eventually turns into an impressive violin solo. Featuring imagery that is both enchanting and slightly on the macabre side, the band make it known that they may be best known for their musical abilities but their talents don’t stop there.
