Welcome to the new era, Sixers.

It’s been just under two years since British rock band You Me At Six released their last album “VI,” and with fans begging for more new music, it seems the band is finally ready to deliver.

After teasing followers over the course of the past week with clips of a new track alongside creepy photos of band members wearing masks while covered in blood, it became clear that a new era was on the rise.

And today, the band confirmed all of our suspicions with the release of their brand new track “MAKEMEFEELALIVE.”

The first single off of the band’s suspected upcoming album, “MAKEMEFEELALIVE,” is a punchy, gritty rock track that takes listeners on a journey back to the band’s punk rock roots.

A departure from the 80s electronic vibes present throughout “VI,” “MAKEMEFEEL” is guitar heavy, with thick bass rhythms driving the song and elements of distortion laid over the vocals. Signaling a potential change away from the pop sounds they headed towards with their last album, this track is charged with social commentary, leading listeners to question the happenings of the world around them.

And while we love a good new song on its own, this release was made even sweeter as it came alongside a new music video, which stars the band as a gang of baby-masked cult members on a quest to steal lead singer Josh Franceschi’s eyeball. But you’ll have to watch the video yourself to understand what we mean.

“MAKEMEFEELALIVE” comes one year after their first post-“VI” track “What’s it Like,” which debuted last August, in addition to their February release “Our House (The Mess We Made)” which was written to help raise funds for Australia following their brushfires earlier this year.

With each of these three recent singles sounding completely different from one another, we are so eager to see which direction their upcoming album heads.

You can stream “MAKEMEFEELALIVE” now, wherever you stream music, and stay tuned for more information about future You Me At Six releases.
